### Classic Jell-O Mold Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 (6 oz) package of Jell-O (any flavor, typically red or orange)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup of fruit (optional, such as diced pineapples, cherries, or berries)
- 1/2 cup sour cream or whipped cream (optional, for a creamy layer)
Instructions:
1. **Prepare the Jell-O:**
- In a medium-sized bowl, dissolve the Jell-O mix in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir for about 2 minutes until the Jell-O is fully dissolved.
- Add 1 cup of cold water to the mixture and stir to combine.
2. **Optional Fruit:**
- If you want to add fruit to your mold, place your choice of diced fruit into the bottom of a mold or bundt pan.
- Pour about half of the Jell-O mixture over the fruit. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes to set this first layer.
3. **Add the Cream Layer (Optional):**
- If you’re adding a creamy layer, mix 1/2 cup of sour cream or whipped cream with a small amount of Jell-O (you can use the remaining mixture). Spread this mixture gently over the semi-set first layer. Let it set in the fridge for another 30 minutes.
4. **Complete the Mold:**
- Pour the remaining Jell-O mixture into the mold over the creamy layer, if used, or directly onto the fruit layer. Refrigerate the entire mold for at least 4 hours or until completely set.
5. **Unmold and Serve:**
- When ready to serve, dip the bottom of the mold in warm water for a few seconds to loosen the Jell-O. Invert the mold onto a serving platter and gently lift it off.
Enjoy your colorful and delicious Jell-O mold!
Variations:
- **Creamy Layers:** Use cream cheese mixed with whipped cream for a richer creamy layer.
- **Different Flavors:** Combine different Jell-O flavors to create multi-layered molds.
- **Add-ins:** For extra fun, consider adding marshmallows, coconut flakes, or even gummy candies to your mold.
